Medieval Day! by Ollie

On Wednesday it was medieval day. We dressed up and played medieval games like: Jousting,quoits, bowling, sword fighting, hoop rolling. Before school, my brother took my school bag. When the bell rang he gave me my bag back . JUST IN TIME!!!!!! then the bell rang. Sam broke the sword I made that took me half an hour to make. I GOT QUITE ANNOYED ABOUT THAT BECAUSE IT WAS HARD TO MAKE WITH ONLY CARDBOARD AND GLUE. I HAD TO PUSH REALLY HARD ON THE CARDBOARD TO MAKE IT STICK WITH SELLOTAPE AND I HAD TO PUSH ON THE BITS I THAT MADE. THE HANDLE  LOOK REAL SO IT WAS BETTER. I HAD TO GLUE IT BACK ON BECAUSE IT FELL OFF.

Makenzie at Rawa in Malaysia

I went to Rawa on the second Saturday of the holidays. We had to drive for 3 hours in this 15 seater van. It was very hot in the van.I hated it. When we got to Mersing we had to wait because the boat went at 12pm. We had to go on the boat for 20minutes to reach Rawa. We got there at last.I felt great when I got there because when we walked along the jetty we saw a big slide.I was very EXCITED! I really wanted to go on it and I was begging when I got there.


When we got to our cabin  I said to mum and dad, " Can we go to the beach?" Finally they said, "Yes."


I raced out the door and ran all the way to the beach with my brother. Then we went down the slide. The colour of the slide was blue.
When the tide was high in the morning we met a friend named Jake and he was five.Did you know that Jake's auntie owns a side of the island? We jumped off the jetty.We did three sixty spins and it was very cool.We went into this sail boat and we saw so many fish and I saw a sea urchin and it was black and white. It was cool. I saw a parrot fish and it was blue. Well I am not sure if it was a parrot fish.I think it was because it had a fin on his back and Jake said there is parrot fish.


There was no pollution at all especially there was no rubbish at all. I was very surprised! Because most islands have litter.


My friend Jake's half of the island had no rubbish on it too. It was an animal reserve. I would have to say because at the back  it was very tropical.In the animal reserve there was no buildings and the huts were made out of wood.

My Holiday by Ella

On one of the days on my holiday I went to subway at Vivo City. I had a a normal meat and cheese sandwich because my mum chose it!
After that we went to my brothers basketball game.
Then five teitas ( helpers) came to my house because we had to change our teita. After that  I went to popstar city.
 Also we had MOVIE NIGHT! We watched DIARY OF A WIMPY KID- Rodric Rules. It was very funny but it was scary at one part but most of it was funny.
The next day we had a lazy day and that was my holiday. I felt very relaxed!

My fantastic holiday by Charlotte 2RY

In the holiday I went to Male an Island in the Maldives. Then we got on a sea plane to Rangali Island. Rangali island was really fun! I got to go snorkling with a Whale shark! And went night fishing and the crew and my dad were the only people that caught a fish! My dad let his go because it was too small. The crew caught a super big tuna! We had a buffet lunch and dinner at an attol market!It was really yummy!
My favourite thing at the buffet breakfast was cinnamon donut balls. My favourite part of dinner was dessert because of the huge chocolate fountain. It was a fantastic holiday!

My Best Holiday Ever by Brandon

On the first day of  "my best holiday ever," I went to Jurong Water Park with my family and friends. My favourite part was when we lazed around in the lazy river. It goes round and round the whole water park and it goes really fast through caves and obstacles. There is a wave pool that is rocky and the waves go up and down really fast.


The next day, I went to Sentosa and rode the sky ride. It was pretty scary but I made it. After we got to the top we rode the Luge down and it was fun. Also they had two trails, one was called the Jungle trail. It had lots of leaves everywhere and the Dragon trail had lots of loops, ramps and swerves. After that we had KFC for lunch and it was yummy.


Then the next day I went Ice Skating. It was really fun. I went with Arkie and Michael. We skated at  KALLANG ICE WORLD. Its kind of hard to skate but after a while you can get the hang of it. There is also music playing while you skate and its really fun and its really slippery. There are handle bars you can use if you can not skate for safety. Every four hours they use a machine to clean the ice.Then we had SUBWAY, it was really yummy. After I got home I was exhausted but I had so much fun.That was the Best holiday ever, the end.

MY HOLIDAY by Ollie

On my Holiday I went to an island called Koyou.Koyou had an island resort called KOYOU Island Restort and I met some Friends from Nepal.

Once we got on the boat which had a 225 twin motor, I got to go up to the front of the boat for fun. The wind was blowing in my face and it was really funny because my sister's hair was being blown up. 

After we arrived at the island, we watched a rugby world cup game, Wales vs Ireland but Wales won.BUT England were still in the cup but they got sent home too on the same day as Ireland.

At the hotel called "D" Coconut, we were just about to go for a swim in the infinity pool when we saw the Kayaks were floating away.I had to swim out and get them with my dad. When we retrieved the Kayaks,we had a play on them but it started to rain as usual!! Once it rained all day and we had to play inside the whole day in are bungalow which WAS OUR ROOM IN THE HOTEL!!!

On the holiday I went to Austarlia to see my cousins. Also my mum was doing a half marathon in Melbourne because it was cooler than Singapore. We went to the  Royal Melbourne Show and I was excited because I've never been before. We saw cows and they were pretty big! The next day we went to Showl ( Jewish Church) and there was a party because it was a special celebration and we had to fast for 2 days and then we could have apple and honey!
It was a fun and exciting holiday!

My Holiday by Lachlan

On my holiday I moved house to Joo Chiat.
Second I went to see Johnny English Reborn at the movies and in the next few days I watched the movie the Dolphin Tale.
At the end of my holiday I saw The Lion King  play at Marina Bay Sands.

I'm Fynnlay

Hello, I'm from Australia. My favourite thing to do is jazz! I really like my new school but I still miss my old school, St Augustines but I am lucky I am here. I miss all my friends in Australia. I miss them a lot but I happy here. I like to do swimming after school and play on the computer. My parent's names are Sean and  Alison. I'm 7 years old. My favourite thing to eat is steak cooked on the BBQ.

My Holiday By Siena

In the holidays I went to Australia and saw all of my cousins. Two of my cousins whose names are Poppy and Elsie slept over with me and we had lots of fun listening to the music on my ipad and we played hide and seek for a little bit. Me and my family stayed at The Chifley Hotel and near the Chifley was a restaurant next door. We went to the restaurant with my cousin Liv.
When we left Newcastle to go to Sydney I had to sit with a bag at my feet which was really uncomfortable.
When we got to Sydney we had to go to some place called the Mantra which was a good place to stay because it was right outside Chatswood Shopping centre which was where I got all of my birthday presents from.
The next day we had to go to a wedding and then we had to leave back to Singapore for my birthday and I was VERY EXCITED !I got a big box of lego and a club penguin book and lots of clothes and I also got some teedy bear clothes for my ted. I also got some stuff from my friend in the senior school. Her name is Tori.She gave a water pump for my pool and some lollies. I chose the dinner and it was smoked salmon pasta and for dessert we had cupcakes and they had butterflies on the top.
Then we went to the second floor to play the xbox and Tori wanted to play a car racing game.We played for a little bit and then Tori had to go home.That was the best day of the Holidays.
Ohh and I turned 8 years old.

Preschool Art Show

Today we visited the Preschool to see their annual Art Show. These are our reflections.

• I saw the Eifeel Tower and it was really pretty because it had a glow stick that was flashing. Shayla
• There was a McQeen car and it was really nice. It was covered in paper mache and it looked like the real car. Brandon
• My brother's art piece was a spider made from clay. I liked how he put big eyes on it because it looked cute. Emma S
• I saw an amazing sheep - it looked like a famous artist had done it. Arkie
• I saw a picture of Tinkerbell and it looked like the real Tinkerbell. It was made as a collage and it sparkled. Stephanie
• I was really surprised about the robot I saw. It was really good because it was shaped in a square and the arms were out wide. It was a good artwork. Gus
• My favourite was the the bi plane. It was symmetrical on both sides and I liked it because they had used chopsticks for the blades. Ollie
• My favourite artwork was a model that was about a book 'Who sank the boat?'I liked it because it was really creative. I loved the lighthouse at the back.  Liam
• I saw an artwork that looked like a Y1or Y2 artwork. It was a girls own imagination of princesses. Niamh
• A preschooler made a painting called, 'Rainbow Faeries.' I liked it because she painted the rainbow nicely and it was really colourful. She made the faeries out of recycled stuff. Tatiana
• The most amazing artwork I saw was the Merlion. Underneath was water made from celophane. the Merlion was made of clay and was realistic. Marzio



• My favourite artwork was the giraffe. I liked it because it was big and looked like a real baby giraffe. Piper

My dad said my work is great. I was happy when he said that but best of all was my Maths. Dad  liked aviary.  He said I'm great at aviary and I was very happy when he said that.

Last Friday, Ms Hitz- Morton read a funny book about this boy how was so angry.The boy pulled all his toys out and climbed into his toy box. We had a vote about what book would be read.. Also Ms Pearn read us a book  about cool things.

I thought that the Read a Thon was a fun thing to do and it was a good thing to support Kais kids.I loved the Read a Thon because I love to read and I raised $102 for our Read a Thon.Thanks to the Junior school and Year 2, we have raised alot of money for Kais Kids in Cambodia.I read all most every night.

We were practicing the song called, 'I'd Rather'. We argred that Emma said the first line then Siena then me and last Ashton. The song was about I'd rather do anything besides clean the litter box. Emma was doing the coconut clapping, Siena was doing the sticks, I was doing the snake rattle and Ashton was playing the shaker.

My Tagxedo

This is my Tagxedo of a swan (Which dosn't look much like a swan anymore). In Google Search I typed Tagxedo and I pressed the first words I saw. Then Ms.Ryan helped me to log in and choose a way to create it. Some time later she showed me that I could change the shape of my Tagxedo by pressing on shape and make words by pressing load. That's how I made my Tagxedo.

Buddies

Today 2RY went up to grade 4 to see our Buddies! The class was 4M. We had a lot of fun. I made a turtle, some people made a fox and some more people made a goose. You know how? Tangrams! It was probably the most fun thing we did with our buddies.

Humphrey's weekend by Max

On the weekend I had Humphrey. Humphery went to Jules restaurant.  Humphrey had a caramel milk shake and a bacon and egg toast.  It was to much for him. He tried the scooter  but he needs to be much taller.Then he met Angus's toy's. He was shy for the photo. Same with some othor toys then he played my DS. He completed world 2 browser castle. Then I went to play with Jack. We went to the movies and we watched Pirates of the Carabean. Then we had subway.

Ms Jean celebrated her birthday in fine 2RY style on the 5th May. A big Thank you to our fabulous class mum Trini, who supplied wonderful cupcakes to share and lovely gifts from the parents and children!

Farewell Jazzy Jasper

One of our most colourful characters in 2RY has left to live in London. Jasper will be sorely missed by all of us. There were tears everywhere on his last day. We wish him and his family a happy and safe new life in the UK.

Swimming Carnival

Last Wendseday, everyone swam in the Swimming Carnival! Everyone also tried very hard. It was a tough challenge but these were the results: Last was Derwent, 3rd Fitzroy, 2nd Lachlan and 1st (drumroll) was Murray! Even though Murray won, everyone felt proud of their team.

ANZAC Day

ANZAC stands for Australia and New Zealand Army Corps. Poppies are an ANZAC tradition because the soldiers died in a poppy garden and fought in the poppies in Turkey. We made poppies to decorate the pod area for our ANZAC assembly. We listened to the Last Post and Reveille played by Mr Elliot. Our class hosted the Y2 assembly.  ANZAC cookies are also an ANZAC tradition.

In a few days time Easter is coming. On Easter Sunday I hope everyone has a great time and gets as much Easter eggs and lollies to celebrate.

Welcome back! Term 2 has begun

We have all returned from our break refreshed and with lots of quality stories about our holidays. We wrote procedures this week on 'How to have a fantastic holiday' We will publish some soon.
We also had our "Wheels Day' on Wednesday for PE. We discovered the forces that we use when riding or playing on our bikes, scooters, skateboards, ripsticks, rollerblades and swaveboards.
Ms Ryan had a great holiday in Barcelona, Paris and London with her daughter. It was lots of fun :)

We had to make a boat and a ball experiment to test for buoyancy. We put them in a tub full of water to see what would happen. I thought the boat would float and the ball would sink and I was right at the end. by Marzio

We tested the boat and the ball at the same time.Our boat floated and our ball floated a bit because it had some space on the top.I had to write it all with out Ella. 4M had to go soon so we said good-bye to each other as Ella left. we enjoyed having our buddies. by Tatiana

Letter to 2RY about our playground by Ashton

Good afternoon students and parents.
 Our oval and play area is being left with rubbish and equpment. My idea to reduce the rubbish is to introduce nude food. This is where we bring food to school with no plastic and we have a food waste basket for things like apple cores and banana skins. To stop the equiment being left out maybe we can have a different bell 5 minutes before the real bell to let as know to put the balls away and  to pick up 1 piece of  rubbish each and get ready for class. If we all do something little we can make our oval clean and safe.  Thank you

Valentine's Day

On Valentine's day I gave my lovely teachers a flower. Its actually called Valintinos day. I gave the flowers because Valentine's day is about love, romance and being friendly. I love Valentines day, dont you? by Brandon

Today the whole class got cupcakes because it was Arkies birthday. The cupcakes were sososososososososo yummy the whole class ate them before they got down stairs! by Arkie

The day we made a puzzle.

We had to do the puzzle as a group.  We had to be  focused. We had to do it really fast so the other team doesn't win but the other team won, sadly. We had to count the pieces by tens at the end. Tt was really fun making the puzzle as a team. by Arkie
